The Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort has announced that it will be closing for renovations soon. January 5, 2026.
Additionally, overwater bungalows will not be available until July.
Rehousing solutions for impacted bookings are currently being explored.
Message received from the hotel:

Indeed, this ambitious program to beautify our establishment requires adjustments to the schedule: > The hotel closing date has been brought forward to Monday, January 5, 2026. The last guests checking out will leave the hotel on January 5. > The reopening is unchanged and scheduled for April 1, 2026. > However, due to the extent of the planned renovations, the overwater bungalows will remain closed until June 30, 2026.
