A legacy

Tahiti and her islands are brimming with treasures, including culture, history, languages and handicrafts - in short, a whole made up of diverse elements. A unique destination made up of 118 islands divided into 5 archipelagos, each with its own unique characteristics, all spread over an area the size of Europe.

The marae

In French Polynesia, marae are sacred places, usually in the open air, that played a key role in the religious, social and political life of the ancient Polynesians.

These structures were used for religious ceremonies, funeral rites, community gatherings and political events, and were often reserved for chiefs (ari'i) and priests (tahu'a). Today, marae have regained an important place in the cultural consciousness of Polynesians. Many sites have now been restored and protected, and are the focus of traditional ceremonies.

The Marquesas Islands

The majestic Marquesas Islands take every visitor on a timeless voyage. With Tahiti Nui Travel's packages, discovering these treasures at the end of the world becomes a reality.

The Marquesas Islands, also known as “the Land of Men” (Te Henua ʻEnana in Marquesan) is an archipelago in northeastern French Polynesia. Well known for its ancient culture, unique art, and rugged natural beauty. Its nickname, “the Land of Men”, refers to the vigor, bravery and resilience of its inhabitants throughout history.

The treasures of Polynesia

Polynesia, the jewel of the Pacific, is much more than just a dream destination. It's the human and cultural treasures that make it so unique.

Polynesian hospitality, imbued with warmth and sharing, envelops you from the moment you arrive, making you feel part of a big family. This profound sense of welcome is fully expressed during the Heiva i Tahiti. Cradle of the black pearl, Polynesia embodies natural and mysterious beauty.
