Its inhabitants live off the agriculture thanks to a large coastal plain where food and horticulture are produced (potatoes, carrots, taros, yams, etc.). You will also find there: wild coffee-trees and orange trees in abundance. It is on these lands that the Bounty mutineers settled to hide.
Hiking in the Mount Taitaa (the highest summit on the island) at 422 meters high will offer a splendid view of the lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. Riding a bicycle on the coastal road, swimming in the warm and transparent water of its splendid blue lagoon full of multicoloured
tropical fish, clams and lobsters, relaxing on its many Motu (white sand islets), walking on the splendid beaches of the island whose sand can vary from white to pink or ochre… the trade winds are also good for kite surfing and windsurfing for sliding sports lovers… the rendez-vous with this radiant and generous nature are numerous.
A marvellous adventure in the astounding landscapes of Tubuai !
