Welcome by a hostess from Tahiti Nui Travel at the international airport of Tahiti-Faa’a
Once the plane has landed at Faa’a – the international airport of Tahiti, the crew invites all the passengers to get down from the plane directly onto the tarmac. Indeed, we are far from the large international airports of Paris or Los Angeles.
As soon as you get off the plane you will feel an enormous climate change. It is preferable to be at ease so that the transition can take place in the best possible way.
At the airport entrance, a Polynesian welcome is given by a group of local musicians. A Tahiti Tiare, emblem of Polynesia is also offered by a charming Vahine (woman).

Then some small formalities to fill in and it is already time to pick up your luggage from the airport’s conveyor belt.
A final walk through customs before leaving and being welcomed by a Tahiti Nui Travel hostess with a wreath of odorous flowers …. Ia Orana, Manava i Maeva i Tahiti ! (Welcome to Tahiti!)
Departure to your hotel, “boutique lodge”, to Air Tahiti’s domestic terminal within the airport, or to the ferry quay in Papeete.
Information and advice
The international airport of Tahiti-Faa’a provides several conveniences such as souvenir shops, exchange offices which are open at the times of departure and arrival, a postal service, car rental agencies, an information service desk, a snack bar, a restaurant and a cyberspace.
Taxi cabs are also available outside the airport.
There is also a “Fare Hei” (wreath house) with Polynesian Mamas and their splendid hand made shell and flower necklaces for departures and arrivals.
