The Tahiti Lagoon Resort: Opening February 2026

Nestled in the heart of a vast tropical garden bordered by a white sand beach and its turquoise lagoon, the emblematic hotel built in 1998 and operated under the Méridie then Sofitel brand, reopens its doors on February 1, 2026 after a complete refresh of its rooms and common areas, as well as the creation of a brand new beachfront restaurant. It now bears the name Tahiti Lagoon Resort and is rated 3 stars.

An exceptional location

The property enjoys a prime location on Tahiti's west coast, at Pointe des Pêcheurs, opposite the famous Sapinus surf spot and La Source dive site. A protected marine area, its lagoon is a true marine sanctuary ideal for snorkeling. It is also just a few minutes' walk from the Museum of Tahiti and the Islands and the varied restaurants and shops of the Tamanu shopping center.

Its 142 rooms, suites and overwater bungalows combine modern comfort and Polynesian authenticity, all offering breathtaking views of the lush nature and sunsets of Tahiti.

Stay & Leisure Experience

Two restaurants, a beach bar, and a main bar invite you to enjoy a variety of cuisine, ranging from international cuisine to local specialties. Three banquet rooms, including one measuring 500 m², will accommodate both small and large events.
And for everyone's enjoyment, the unmissable Tahiti Ora Show Evening on Friday and Sunday Brunch will be retained!

Guests will also be able to enjoy a multitude of activities: a huge 2,000 m² swimming pool, 3 padel courts, but also beach volleyball, paddle kayaking, snorkeling, not to mention yoga sessions at sunrise and sunset (subject to availability), as well as cultural activities and a unique artistic workshop.

The Tahiti Lagoon Resort aims to offer exemplary service at affordable prices, welcoming both local and international guests. It also affirms its commitment to sustainable development by implementing eco-responsible approaches to reduce its carbon footprint, limit waste, and protect the lagoon.

Introductory offers

Still in the finishing phase of work during the month of February 2026, the hotel offers its first visitors a single rate with complimentary breakfast, and subject to availability at the time of check-in & late check-out.
A great opportunity to discover or rediscover this flagship location of Polynesian tourism!
