Scuba diving, one of our destination’s major activity, requires a number of rules necessary for the safety of divers:
– The “exploration” dives are only available to divers who have been certified by international organizations such as PADI or CMAS. See Diving section of the Rate Manual.
– Different levels are available, from beginner to advance, fixing among others a depth limit. Therefore, not all dives are accessible to everyone. To dive in the Tuamotus, especially in Rangiroa or Fakarava, CMAS Level II or PADI Advance Open Water Diver certification are highly recommended.
– It is very important to send us the divers’ level of certification whenever making a reservation
– Do not pre-sell more than 2 dives per day. With the fatigue of a long trip, jet lag, and climate change, the physical conditions of the divers may be altered.
– It is forbidden to dive within 12 hours before a domestic flight or 24 hours before an international flight.
– If you are not certified, you can do a first dive in shallow water, known as an “initiation dive”, available on several islands, featured in the Excursion section of the Rate Manual.
– We also offer dive certifications, available at the end of the Diving section of the Rate Manual
– All dives, exploration or initiation, proposed in our selection include all of the equipment. However, for greater comfort, we recommend all certified divers to bring at least their own mask. An additional baggage allowance of 5kg, granted exclusively for the transportation of diving equipment, is extended to divers traveling with Air Tahiti on ATR flights.
