As part of the “My Rode Reel 2014” international short film competition, a young team of Polynesian filmmakers, equipped only with GoPro, provided a 5-minute film entitled “Ia Orana, let’s spread the word”, entirely created in 5D.
Shot on the island of Tahiti, this short film shows the traditional “Ia Orana” (general greeting in Tahitian) across many extraordinary landscapes. Much more than a simple hello for the Polynesians, this value, represented by a Tipani flower in the film, is passed on from generation to generation. Starting in the year 1800, the flower travels the land, valleys and rivers throughout time and finishes its journey entirely unchanged in the present day.
Very well made, we wanted to share this film, which we hope will inspire many of you to discover our “Fenua” (land) and its culture.
